Silvia Ghigliazza
Yoga teacher and tireless traveller. I've practised for about fifteen years and taught for over six: I bring yoga everywhere, because my studio is the world.

My journey
I met yoga about fifteen years ago. At first it was a light practice, almost a pastime. Then came a dark period — one of those that take your breath away — and yoga, all of a sudden, became everything. On the mat I could move and put back in order what, in my life at that time, was in disorder. The breath, pranayama, helped me ease fears, anxiety and stress; then meditation and concentration were the real turning point, the one that brought body, breath and mind back into balance. It's no coincidence that "yoga", in Sanskrit, means union — of body, breath and soul. From there it became a daily need, never an obligation: I carved out time even where there was none, and I learned the discipline and consistency I had never found elsewhere. When I realised how good it made me feel, I asked myself: what if I could share it? That's how, for over six years now, the teacher was born — to offer this wellbeing to those who need it as I did, and to accompany those who are simply curious to discover it.

My approach
I believe in yoga that adapts to the person, not the other way around. Every body is different, every day is different: that's why I don't offer one practice for everyone, but the one that's right for you, at this very moment in your life. My job is to give you the tools to move consciously, safely and progressively — whether you have ten minutes in a hotel room or seventy-five in a studio. And whether we're in a one-to-one lesson or a room with thirty people, the care and the love I bring stay exactly the same: with me you feel welcomed, never judged, never tested. Because before technique, for me, always comes the person.

Styles & skills
My training spans Vinyasa and Hatha, Rocket® Yoga and functional mobility: different worlds I love to weave into a single living practice, never rigid. From Vinyasa I take fluidity and the link between breath and movement, from Hatha the care for alignment and calm, from Rocket the energy and the courage to try. To all this I add pranayama, postural work, meditation and deep relaxation, so a session doesn't just train the body but brings body, breath and mind back into balance. I build every practice to measure — for your level, your time and how you feel today. I teach in Italian and English.
Why "La Yogini con la valigia" (the yogini with a suitcase)
The name isn't a whim: it's how I live in the world. My mother says I always have a trolley ready by the door — and it's true. The suitcase, for me, is freedom: the freedom to bring yoga anywhere, because my studio is the world. On holiday, on a work trip, on the other side of the planet twelve time zones away, my practice stays my practice — to live alone or to share. Because yoga, even before movement, is a state of mind: you don't need four walls, you need presence. And travel is the other half of my heart: experience, curiosity, the urge to look into the eyes of those who live far away, to shake hands, exchange ideas, discover new scents and flavours (I love eating, far more than cooking!). All of this with respect — for people, for places and for every culture that welcomes me.

The values that guide my practice
I teach with a clear idea: the practice should serve the person, not the other way around. Behind every sequence there's something bigger than a pose — listening, trust, self-love. These are the three principles I bring to every class, event and retreat, from practice at home to a mat by the sea.
Adaptability
Every body and every day is different. I adapt the practice to your level, your time and your state — ten minutes just after waking or a full hour — so yoga can be sustainable, truly yours, and stay with you for life, wherever you are.
Authenticity
No performance, no dogma, no judgement. I look for a real, human and accessible experience, where you can feel welcomed from the very first breath. What I do, I do with care and with love — and that's exactly what I want you to feel, from the first minute to the last.
Presence
Yoga is training in presence. Breath, movement and listening become tools to come back to yourself — to care for the body, calm the mind and soothe the soul with a discipline that is ancient and, at the same time, deeply current. On and off the mat.

Yoga and retreats: my experience
For years I have guided groups in retreats and yoga experiences in Italy and around the world: from Liguria to Ibiza and Morocco. A retreat is much more than a holiday: it's the time and space to truly slow down, deepen your practice and reconnect with yourself, surrounded by beauty and togetherness.
I take care of every detail of the experience — the practices, the rhythm, the atmosphere — so every participant, from beginner to advanced, feels welcome. If you dream of an experience like this, take a look at my upcoming retreats and events.

What a class with me is like
Every class starts from where you are now. We begin with the breath, to tune in, then build the practice with progression and care, alternating movement, strength, mobility and stillness. I work a lot with variations, so you can practise safely without forcing. If a pose doesn't come today, it's not a definitive "no": it's just a "not yet". Yoga is a journey, and along the way you discover that certain limits, one breath at a time, can be overcome. The goal isn't the perfect pose: it's feeling better in your body, learning to trust yourself and to love yourself — class after class.
Yoga taught me that my studio is the world. I'd love to help you discover yours — one breath, one step, one suitcase at a time. — Silvia
