Corporate Yoga

Corporate yoga: wellbeing you can see at work

I bring yoga into your spaces, with programmes built around your company and the kind of work you do. Forty minutes are enough to change the tone of a day — and, over time, the climate of a team.

Let's talk
Corporate yoga class with Silvia Ghigliazza — group practice indoors

Why corporate yoga, now

Work has changed: more hours in front of a screen, more meetings, more notifications, less movement. Office bodies spend most of the day in the same position, and minds stay in a state of continuous attention that rarely switches off.

You know the consequences: neck and lower-back tension that turns chronic, focus dropping in the afternoon, irritability, a tiredness the weekend doesn't clear. These things show up in the internal climate and in the quality of the work long before they show up on a medical certificate.

Corporate yoga works exactly there: it isn't a gym class, it is a way of teaching people to release tension and come back into their bodies. In forty minutes, with no equipment and without going anywhere.

What actually changes

Less desk-related pain

Neck, shoulders and lower back pay for the hours at a desk first. Work on mobility and lengthening targets exactly those muscular chains.

Sharper afternoons

Breathwork helps people come back from scattered attention and refocus: that's why a lunch-break practice pays off across the rest of the day.

Stress management

Simple breathing techniques people can reuse on their own, before a presentation or after a difficult day.

A different climate

Practising together puts everyone on the same level, outside their roles. It is one of the most natural ways to dissolve distance in a team.

A welfare benefit people feel

An ongoing wellbeing initiative is a concrete signal: it says the company looks after its people, not only its results. It is among the benefits perceived as most genuine — and it shows in who stays.

Open to everyone

The practice is adaptive: those who have never done yoga and those with physical limitations always find a suitable variation. Nobody is left out.

When yoga fits into the working day

Thirty or forty minutes are enough. That is the time it takes for the breath to slow, the shoulders to drop and the mind to come back into focus: not much, but enough for the difference to be felt straight away — and carried through the rest of the day.

And no, it isn't time taken away from work. Someone who returns to their desk loose and present works better, and for longer, than someone who gets there tense and already tired. That is why these initiatives pay off for whoever organises them too.

Before working hours

The day starts with an active body and a clear mind, and that clarity carries into the first hours — the ones where most decisions are made.

During the lunch break

The most requested format: it breaks the rhythm and restores focus in exactly the stretch where it drops most, without taking a minute from work.

At the end of the day

Tension is released there, instead of following people out of the office. It is also the moment when the company stops being merely the place where you work.

Shifts, sites, habits: you choose the right moment. The practice adapts to the schedule, not the other way around.

Where it happens: your own spaces are enough

No gym is needed, and no equipped room. What is needed is the space of one mat per person — a little over two metres by one — and somewhere you can be undisturbed for half an hour.

  • A meeting room freed up for the occasion
  • A common area, a canteen, a passage space outside busy hours
  • A courtyard, a garden or a terrace, when the season allows

I come to you: nobody has to travel, book venues or lose time commuting. I bring the mats on request. And if space is tight, I adapt the practice — there are sequences designed to work almost on the spot.

Outdoor corporate yoga session — team building with Silvia Ghigliazza

Yoga as a team-building experience

An hour of shared yoga does something a meeting cannot: it removes roles. On the mat there is no one leading and no one executing — there are people breathing together, each dealing with their own body, all on the same level.

That is why it works so well for team building: inside a company day, at a kick-off, at a convention, or as an active break during a work retreat. It can be done outdoors, in a garden or on a terrace, and it becomes the moment people remember from that day.

Unlike more competitive team-building activities, yoga puts nobody in difficulty and creates no winners: it is an experience that brings people together without selecting them.

An event or a programme

I build the proposal around your reality: number of people, available spaces, timing and goals. Whether you are a small business or a large organisation, that is always the starting point.

Single session or event

A session that stands on its own: a special occasion — a company day, a milestone reached, one of those team moments described above — or simply a way to let people discover yoga for the first time. And something interesting often happens: those who try it at the office end up looking for a class of their own. The wellbeing the company offers leaves the company and stays with the people.

Ongoing programme

Regular appointments, weekly or fortnightly. It is the difference between a nice initiative and a result you can see: tension has no time to build back up, people genuinely learn to use their breath, and wellbeing enters their habits instead of remaining a fond memory.

Yoga and corporate welfare

Corporate welfare stopped being just vouchers and reimbursements a long time ago: more and more Italian companies use it to look after the physical and mental wellbeing of their employees, and yoga is among the activities entering these plans fastest.

The reason is simple. It is a benefit people feel immediately and that concerns everyone — not only those who already play sport. Above all it is an activity the company can offer within its own walls, during the day, without asking anyone to organise themselves elsewhere in their free time. Wellbeing stops being something employees have to go and find outside: it becomes part of what the company offers.

If you are considering this for your company and your people, write to me. We will work out together the path that best suits your needs, and I will prepare a clear, documented proposal: format, frequency, participants and costs.

Who you are working with

I am Silvia Ghigliazza, a certified Yoga Purna Anandamaya and CSEN teacher, specialised in Vinyasa, Hatha and Rocket® Yoga (Yoga Alliance). I teach an adaptive method: the practice is built around the people in front of me, not the other way around. That is the necessary condition for working in a company, where one room holds very different levels, ages and physical conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Can yoga be part of a corporate welfare plan?

Yes. Wellbeing activities offered to all employees or to homogeneous categories are among the services companies include in their welfare plans. How the initiative is structured makes a difference administratively: I will prepare a detailed proposal for you to review with your advisors.

Do we need a gym or an equipped room?

No. Corporate yoga happens in the spaces you already have: a meeting room, a common area, any free space or even a garden. No fixed equipment is needed.

How much space is needed per person?

Very little: the space of a mat, about two metres by one, with a little margin around it to move the arms. If space is tight the practice adapts — there are sequences designed to work almost on the spot.

Who brings the mats?

On request I bring them. Alternatively they can be provided by the company, or each person can bring their own: we agree on it when organising.

How long is a session?

From 30 to 60 minutes, depending on available time and goals. The shorter format fits well into a lunch break or the start of the day without taking time from work.

What should participants wear?

Comfortable clothing that doesn't restrict movement is enough. No technical kit is required. For shorter, gentler sessions many people practise without fully changing: being able to bend the knees freely is enough.

How many people can take part?

It depends on the space. With smaller groups I can follow everyone closely; for larger numbers we arrange several sessions or a dedicated format, so quality stays the same for everyone.

What if nobody has ever done yoga?

That is the most common situation, and it is not a problem. The practice starts from the basics, with variations for every body. Anyone with physical limitations or feeling out of shape always finds a suitable version.

Can it be done online for distributed teams?

Yes. For companies with several sites or people working remotely I offer online sessions, so everyone practises together wherever they are.

How does invoicing work?

I invoice the company directly. I will prepare a detailed quote based on format, frequency and number of participants.

Which areas do you cover?

I am based in Savona and easily reach the whole of Liguria. On request I consider other cities too — tell me where you are and we'll find a solution.
